How Climate Injustice affected Puerto Rico in Maria

Maria's continuing impact on Puerto Rico is inexcusable. The United States didn’t help enough with infrastructure, evacuation, funding, decreasing climate vulnerability or even just recovery. This is a territory of the United states that was hit with 155 mph winds, 3-9 feet of storm surge, and went without power for 328 days!! Puerto Rico is still struggling to recover from the storm, but without addressing the underlying issues of colonialism and racism we will surely see a repeat of Maria.
